Winter blues..in June.

Hello! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend.
I spent most of the last few days in bed so I wasn't wearing anything worthy of an OOTD post. I caught a cold somehow, which isn't a big deal usually but a cold in the middle of summer equals me being absolutely miserable. On a better note, i'm almost back to being pale. Hurray!
Anyways, here is today's outfit:

I bought this dress last week and this was my first time wearing it. I got the last UK size 18 in the store, which was the biggest size that brand carries. I don't understand why they don't stock more of the bigger sizes when they usually sell out first! The color and detail at the bottom really stand out.
I purchased the shoes sometime around Christmas and it was also my first time to wear them. I decided it would be a good time to "break them in" since I wasn't drinking, but they were a dream to walk in. I think the straps at the front really help. I have a feeling I will be planning my outfits to match these shoe's in the future!
The necklace is from Primark, can you tell I love their jewelery? It was tagged for €5 but actually scanned through at €1! It came on a longer chain but I switched it to wear it with this dress.

I haven't forgotten about the giveaway, I will have it soon! I just need to find more things to include in it. I really hate picking out accessories and jewelery for other people, I would much rather pick out one pair of shoes. Why oh why can't we all have the same shoe size!

  4. I don't want to add this to my entry, but I know the dress isn't the most flattering as some anon pointed out (don't worry, I'm not offended! I just know some other people will think the same thing)

    No matter what I wear it's going to be unflattering on my stomach because my belly is the biggest part of me! Sure, this is a little more unflattering than the bodycon floral dress from a few entries back but it's pretty and I feel good in it so I think that's all that matters!

    I don't expect everyone to love every single thing about each outfit I post though. Actually, I would hate that, because then I would feel pressure to always dress a certain way.

  5. I really love that dress! Very cute on you. The shoes are amazing too, I could never wear shoes like that and look graceful, I'd be falling all over the place but you make them look fabulous!

    I agree wholeheartly on the bigger sizes selling out first! Originally from NZ and a size 14/16 depending on the store. It seems that those sizes always run out first? Surely that should be a sign there are more bigger girls than smaller girls at size 8/10? **Sigh** (I always hated going to sales and finding the only sizes left were the teeny tiny ones too...)

    Oh and poo poo to the person who said your dress was unflattering - you rock pretty lady!

    The same thing happens at sales here too! I even see that they mark down the smaller sizes more than the big sizes sometimes, gah.

    Some stores here don't even carry the biggest size that they make. Topshop rarely have size 16's (their biggest size) in store even though that size is usually the first to sell out when it does come in. New Look only stock a couple of the largest sizes (16 and 18) even the manager couldn't give me a proper reason as to why they don't have more! I wanted a dress and he had at least 10+ extra of every size in the stock room except size 16 or 18. I hate shopping there. /rant!

    I don't mind that they said it was unflattering because it's true..however the last time I wrote about something being unflattering on me (horizontal stripes) I got a lot of hate mail saying I was too negative. So I purposely left it out of my blog entry this time. I just felt I should address it *somewhere*

    I still think you look great - my partner and I are thinking of moving to the UK in a couple of year. I can't wait to go shopping when I get there because of all the great UK fashion blogs ^^

    Katorra - I rarely go fully bare armed. I have a lot of stretch marks/scarring at the top of my arms because of rapid weight loss then gaining most back, and I have a skin disease on my back/upper arms that I prefer to cover up. It's not too awful looking and whenever I went bare armed nobody even looked at it, but I just feel more comfortable to keep it hidden away! lol
