Sorry I haven't posted in a few days. Without getting too much into the details and too personal, the past week wasn't too great. Anyways, here is an OOTD from today.

Dress: Reko @ Topshop *** Cardigan: Savida *** Shoes: Primark *** Neckace: River Island
The outfit was inspired by those retro girls in America during the 50's. The girls who hung out at the diner on weekends sipping on strawberry milkshakes and listening to Elvis. Or at least that's what they did in the movies! I am loving polka dots lately, every store I go into has floral patterns on everything and although I adore them, its so nice and refreshing to wear a different print for a change.
Do you notice anything different about me in these pictures? Yep, I am a little bit orange! I decided to start fake tanning again. I don't think my camera picked up just how vibrant the orange is in real life but I look a pretty similar color to the blogger icon!
I realized at the last minute I was all out of my usual fake tan, so opted for BronzExpress from my local drugstore. It cost €24 for a tiny bottle and I had to use 3/4 of the bottle on one application! I washed it off the next morning and when I got out of the shower my whole body was blotchy and orange. It's a shame because it looked really nice at first. I definitely won't be buying this again. Going to stock up on my usual brand this weekend.
Do any of you girls use fake tan? Whats your favorite brand?
xo

OOTD: diner girl.

I like this look a lot, very cute. The shoes really make it very 'diner girl'.
ReplyDeleteHehe, I did notice a little bit. But despite being "blotchy & orange", you still manage to look remarkably cute! I seriously want to come & steal your entire wardrobe, then make them double the size so they would fit me! Lol.
ReplyDeleteI'm usually not a huge fan of polka dot, but this dress is really cute!

you really do have great legs! and I like using L'Oreal's sublime bronze. I read a tip online recently that really helped me, put on lotion first, let it sink in for a few minutes then apply the tanner over it, it will give you a more natural glow and keep the tanner from collecting or getting streaky. Really worked for me and I am super pale
ReplyDeletethat dress is adorable!

cute dress :O
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear about your tough week - at least you look great. :) Really cute outfit.
ReplyDeleteHey pretty girl! LOVE the necklace! As for fake tan, not me. I can't ever seem to get it all on evenly!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE polka dots ! And you pull them off very well.
ReplyDeleteI'm afraid to use self-tanner, but if I'm outside long enough, I tan naturally.

you look great. i love the necklace and dress.

Looking great :)
ReplyDeleteI use Le Tan In A Can... I live in Aus so I don't know if it is available everywhere :S
xo
Very cute dress - I love poka dots^^
ReplyDeleteI've tried fake tan before, on my legs and it was such a disaster! I'm so scard of the stuff now
You look lovely! :)
ReplyDeleteI love this outfit! I've just started fake tanning (like, last night...) to hide some strap marks and I've woken up to some exciting orange patterns on my skin argh! Luckily I've only used the palest fake tan possible so I don't think it's too obvious, but I definitely need some practise ha! Do you have any tanning tips?
ReplyDeleteSarah x
super cute dress, espec the polka dots and buttons! and love the love necklace, gotta get myself one of those x
ReplyDeleteI dont tan because everything turns me orange! Its such a shame because I would love to glow instead of insulting passersby with my paleness!
ReplyDeleteLove the dress!
I love the necklace... and the dress... and the shoes... well, just everything! You're adorable <3
ReplyDeleteI love your blog! That dress is gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteI occasionally use St Moriz, but being a fellow Irish girl I look odd with a tan anyway!
lovely reminds me of dorothy wizard of oz!
ReplyDeleteThat dress is gorgeous! I am generally rubbish at applying fake tan so don't really tend to use it to much!
ReplyDeleteYou look so cute, love the dress! hope you're having a better week :)
ReplyDeleteyou looks cute nice outfit lovely necklace its really beautiful
ReplyDeleteSuch a lovely dress very vintage esque and so cute with those shoes.
ReplyDeleteAs for fake tan dry Sublime bronzer by Loreal is good its a great colour and you can see how the application goes as soon as you put it on.
Only thing is it takes a good hour to dry.
Ambre Solair dry mist is good it drys in straight away but it takes 3-4hours to come out.
The outfit is adorable! Have you embarked on the gingham trend yet? I have been seen loads of gingham and am starting to like it!
ReplyDeleteAww you look so lovely! Love the dress, it's really cute!
ReplyDeleteStacey xx
LOVELY =D
ReplyDeleteThis outfit is really cute, the necklace is gorgeous! I love everything 1950s style, I wish we had American style diners in the UK because I would go there all the time haha!
ReplyDeleteI have tried so many fake tans, but none of them seem to work very well on me. I bought the Loreal nutrisummer mist the other day, and so far it seems not too bad. Maybe I've finally found the perfect one!
you are so flippin cute girl!! love your dress and necklace!!!

ReplyDeleteyaaaay another Irish blogger!! just came across ur blog through stylefrost's blog..Following :)! Cute dress btw. I love fake tan.. I'm very fair But i think it doesnt matter how fair u are everyone can find a tan that works for them. I have professional tan's at home but one i love is just a regular tan from sam macauleys chemist. Its 'Top image' tan an its great cos you dont need to moisturise before hand, you just wash in the shower as normal then after apply this with a mitt. It come in a liquid or cream. cream is too difficult to wrk with liquid is much easier. I'm gonna do a blog post on it. I have tried so many tans over the yrs but this i'm dead impressed with. My old fave st Tropez doesn't even compare to it..

It looks so good on you!
ReplyDeletelove your blog too, doll!
ReplyDeleteyou're adorable, and have such great style! :)
Love love love the outfit and its inspiration--I'm so one of those 50s girls drinking milkshakes and LOVIN Elvis--oh wait, but I was not alive back then, so I'm not one of them...damn! I wish to be though.
ReplyDeleteSo i'm a fake tanner...and I too struggle with being Orange...and when it gets all hot it sweats off in the creases of my arms and stuff and I look like an idiot, but its ok. I can handle it. My fave brand is the Neutrogena spray mist stuff. I swear by it! Except for the sweating it off in the creases of my elbow part.
Loving polka dots. So sorry I didn't follow you before, but I've checked out your blog a lot! I am going to try Superdrug's new fake tan lotions and they are really affordable!
