OOTD: Something different!

Today I decided to do something a little different with my outfit....wear shorts! If you have been following my blog for a while you have probably noticed that I only wear skirts and dresses. Why? Well, I like how pants look on people but I don't think they're very comfortable. Plus because of my body shape I have issues finding pants that fit, i'm a size 16-18 but the legs are always far too baggy on me! These shorts were indeed baggy on my legs but a perfect fit on my waist.

The shorts had been sitting in my closet (with tags still on!) for quite a while so I figured I should at least give them a chance. I probably won't be wearing them or any kind of pants again any time soon! It felt incredibly awkward. The Topshop floral top was also an item that I purchased and never wore so I wanted to wear it at least once before winter kicks in.

Speaking of winter, I really need to do some A/W shopping! I have far too many pretty sun dresses and not enough wooly warm clothes! Irish winters in recent years haven't been too nice (incredibly cold and icy!) so I want to stock up on some knit tights too. Have you girls started shopping for winter clothes yet?

  1. I love your top, it's really cute. I have wanted to try so hard to wear shorts, but I can't do it, but I will wear holes in my most comfy pair of jeans! I don't think this looks bad on you but comfort is key. Kudos to you for stepping out of your comfort zone!

    I am in the same boat as you. I must shop sometime soon! I'm transitioning as many summer pieces as I can until I get monies to shop for a/w!

  2. This outfit is lovely! I can't bring myself to wear trousers either, I'm addicted to skirts and pretty dresses haha, I feel weird when I'm in jeans on an off-day! Knit tights are so snug, Primark have lots in at the moment :) xx

  4. I have a fear of shorts but my plan this winter is lots of knitted tights/shorts/boots combo so i need to get over it haha
    I love that top and I think I need to pop into primark and get me some bracelets, pretty! :D

  6. I can't bring myself to wear shorts because of my "thunder thighs"... Literally. I finally broke down and bought the first pair of shorts in over 5 years. They are a bit shorter than these in black. I wore them to Disney World because the humidity was RIDICULOUS! I must say that these Bermudas are a cute piece, as much as you abstain from shorts :)

    I have yet to start shopping for fal/wintr but I think jeggings/leggings will definately be in my wardrobe.

    Have you tried any jeggings? I know forever 21 has few of them on their website. They fit like tights do (in my opinion) but look like jeans/trousers/pants. Maybe they could be an alternative for you if you ever wanted to change things up.

  18. Im th opposite - always find it hard to find stuff that fits on the waist!

    I only have pretty dresses and skirts either! I solve this problem by wearing thick tight, boots and long socks :)

  34. first crop blouse is in trend right now esp in Asian country , and u pair it with shorts , how wonderful ! fun , bright love the print u lokk so pretty in it

    same with me , i hardly own any pair of shorts, jeans or trousers because its so hard to find a pair that fits , normally it will either be to loose on the back , which made me look like i have saggy ass lol or too tight at the waistline
