Inspiration post!

I haven't been having a whole lot of luck lately and today I added to that bad luck by breaking my camera remote! Not on purpose of course. Because of that it will be a couple more days until an OOTD post so for now I am going to do a little "inspiration" post featuring 2 fabulous girls who inspire me very much.


Zooey Deschanel, most of you have probably heard of her. She was in movie's such as "Elf" and "500 Days Of Summer". I first discovered her about 6 years ago in a movie called "All The Real Girls" (I recommend you all check it out, it's my favorite movie of all time!) Ever since then I have been admiring her quirky style. Her outfits are always so feminine and pretty.
Sure, she probably weighs half of what I do but I think any plus size girl can dress just how she does because everything is so flattering and would look great on bodies of any size. I think she is the reason why I love nude and pastel colors so much! A lot of my outfits are definitely inspired by her style.




This is Hayley Hasselhoff. She is one of David Hasselhoff's daughters. I discovered her 2 years ago when I was searching for pictures of her dad on google. (I'm a fan of the Hoff too!) She did some modeling for Torrid a few years ago and right now she's in a tv show about people who are in a fat camp -I haven't seen it so I don't know a whole lot about this- We have pretty much the same measurements although her weight seems to yo-yo a lot.
I love everything about this girl. In one of the picture's above she is wearing a hot pink top and... spandex leggings! As you can probably guess, they don't flatter plus size girls very much, however I thought she looked incredible. I think a huge part of that was because she was so confident and that really outweighed everything else.
The only thing I dislike is that she wears black so much. I do love all of her little black dresses but she looks so beautiful in bright colors and I love seeing other plus size girls wearing bright colors too, so hopefully she will start rocking more colorful outfits in the future! Either ways, i'm still a fan of her and i'm so glad she is proud of her body, something that is rare in Hollywood regardless of size.

Winter blues..in June.

Hello! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend.
I spent most of the last few days in bed so I wasn't wearing anything worthy of an OOTD post. I caught a cold somehow, which isn't a big deal usually but a cold in the middle of summer equals me being absolutely miserable. On a better note, i'm almost back to being pale. Hurray!
Anyways, here is today's outfit:

I bought this dress last week and this was my first time wearing it. I got the last UK size 18 in the store, which was the biggest size that brand carries. I don't understand why they don't stock more of the bigger sizes when they usually sell out first! The color and detail at the bottom really stand out.
I purchased the shoes sometime around Christmas and it was also my first time to wear them. I decided it would be a good time to "break them in" since I wasn't drinking, but they were a dream to walk in. I think the straps at the front really help. I have a feeling I will be planning my outfits to match these shoe's in the future!
The necklace is from Primark, can you tell I love their jewelery? It was tagged for €5 but actually scanned through at €1! It came on a longer chain but I switched it to wear it with this dress.

I haven't forgotten about the giveaway, I will have it soon! I just need to find more things to include in it. I really hate picking out accessories and jewelery for other people, I would much rather pick out one pair of shoes. Why oh why can't we all have the same shoe size!

OOTD: diner girl.

Sorry I haven't posted in a few days. Without getting too much into the details and too personal, the past week wasn't too great. Anyways, here is an OOTD from today.

The outfit was inspired by those retro girls in America during the 50's. The girls who hung out at the diner on weekends sipping on strawberry milkshakes and listening to Elvis. Or at least that's what they did in the movies! I am loving polka dots lately, every store I go into has floral patterns on everything and although I adore them, its so nice and refreshing to wear a different print for a change.

Do you notice anything different about me in these pictures? Yep, I am a little bit orange! I decided to start fake tanning again. I don't think my camera picked up just how vibrant the orange is in real life but I look a pretty similar color to the blogger icon!
I realized at the last minute I was all out of my usual fake tan, so opted for BronzExpress from my local drugstore. It cost €24 for a tiny bottle and I had to use 3/4 of the bottle on one application! I washed it off the next morning and when I got out of the shower my whole body was blotchy and orange. It's a shame because it looked really nice at first. I definitely won't be buying this again. Going to stock up on my usual brand this weekend.

As always, you can make the pictures bigger by clicking on them! This was my first time wearing this dress, it reminds me of ice-cream for some reason!
I bought the Dior sunglasses as a gift to myself for my birthday. I don't splash out on designer items often and when I do I really love and appreciate them.

Today I spent 2 hours in the doctors office (which was freezing cold even though it being 23C outside, might I add!) After that I decided to go shopping and for once I left completely empty handed.
I really love New Look lately, their clothes are stylish and the large "20% off all dresses" sign in the window lured me in. But just like their website, everything was sold out in my size. This is why I only shop on their website/in their stores maybe 2-3 times a year. Everything sell's out in sizes 16 and 18 first which is fine but is it really that hard to make more when there's demand for it?! Come on New Look!
It's a shame because there was a lot of cute dresses and skirts, some of it was jersey fabric so I could possibly have fit into a size 14 but I just felt so down when I searched for my size in about 15 different items and everything was sold out.



On my way home I found Glamour magazine at a tiny store. Everyone over here is snapping it up this month because for £2/€3 you get a magazine and a free full size Benefit item! I picked up 4 copies, I really needed new eyeliner and all four items cost less than the price of one eyeliner. Sweet!

I can barely keep my eyes open so i'll catch up on everyone's blogs tomorrow! Have a wonderful night everyone!

The big 2-0 and the giveaway winner announced.

Today was my birthday. I wasn't going to mention it on here but I changed my mind. I turned 20. Honestly I wasn't at all happy about it this morning but I have changed my mind and I am ready and excited to start this new chapter of my life!
I didn't do much to celebrate because it's a weekday but I had a great dinner with my family and did a little shopping. Later this week my best friend and I are going on a shopping spree in the city and then at the weekend I am going out for cocktails and clubbing to celebrate with some friends!

Nude is back!

Hey everyone! Hope y'all are having a wonderful weekend!

I resisted nude for the past couple of days but couldn't help myself today! I found this skirt at the back of my closet and never had any intentions on wearing it before, infact the tags were still on until today! Horizontal stripes, bad fitting, makes me look even bigger than I am, etc. I wore it anyways and honestly it wasn't that bad. It did make my bottom half look a lot bigger than it is.. maybe I should care, but I don't.
I also wore this jacket which was also abandoned until today. It was definitely not made for a bigger girl, but I couldn't resist it in store because the nude and black worked so perfectly together.
I have a really bad habit of buying things because they're cute but don't flatter my figure. I do try to wear flattering clothes as often as possible but sometimes there's just that one thing that is too cute to pass up even though it makes you look ridiculous!

Excuse my ridiculous poses! I always feel so awkward in front of the camera. I'm so used to being behind it and telling other people what to do, yet i'm useless when it comes to taking my own pictures!

This outfit is proof that plus sized girls can shop in straight sized stores. You just need to spend time trying things on and know what material and cuts will fit you. The top is a size UK 14, the jacket and skirt are both size UK 16, i'm a UK 18! Don't completely rule out shopping at "regular" stores!
