Wishlist: a black and white affair.

There are so many things that I want from Forever 21 lately. Every time I go on their site I see at least 15-20 new items that I want, so it was hard picking just 9 for this wishlist. I really tried to squeeze in as many items as I could which you can probably tell!
Their "Faith 21" collection keeps getting better and they now have Tara Lynn (who is a real plus sized model) modeling some of the Faith 21 products, she is incredible!

RIP camera, 2007-2010.

My camera died on Tuesday! It was working perfectly the last time I used it but now it refuses to power up. I ordered a new battery which will be here sometime next week however I think it may be more than a problem with the battery. The shutters on my camera model typically fail after about 30k shots and I have taken close to that.

If the new battery doesn't fix the problem I will probably purchase a new one but it's probably going to be 1-2 weeks before I can do that so there will be no outfit posts until then! Hopefully y'all will stick around.

I really have some catching up to do on everyone's blogs because I haven't been online too much lately. Honestly I spent most of Tuesday and Wednesday sulking (yes, about a camera! I think of it as a close friend) so I will use the extra time to do this.
I am also going to write a few non-OOTD posts and I will be announcing the giveaway winners this weekend! I'm looking forward to catching up on everyone's blogs and seeing all of the cute outfits you girls have been wearing.

Before I go I just wanted to share a video with all of you. My blog is mentioned in it but I promise that's not the reason that i'm posting it here!
The aim of their YouTube channel is to try and help other men with body issues and low confidence. Even though I struggled with accepting my body and building my confidence for a long time, there were definitely resources to help me with that. I don't think there is quite as much out there for guys which is why I love this idea so much. I hope that any guys who stumble upon my blog will join them.


(I wasn't asked to advertise this by the way, I just feel strongly about body acceptance for both genders!)

Sailor Chic.

So I have a little confession to make - If you haven't already noticed, I have been in a rut lately. Nude, white, light pink. They're all beautiful colors and I love wearing them but I feel like I need to challenge myself more. Since red is my least favorite color I thought using it for an outfit would be the perfect way to break out of my comfort zone. The whole outfit is from Primark and cost a grand total of... 44 euros ($57 USD)!

Phew, picture overload! I added in a silly photo or two, I feel so awkward posing for pictures!
I was going to wear a navy cardigan instead but it felt much too matchy-matchy. I spent 10 minutes wondering "will I or won't I" before I settled for the red cardigan, but it turned out to be a waste of time since I left the cardigan off for most of the day!

OOTD: Tiered florals

The last picture is silly, I know! My penpal doesn't have the internet so I mail him pictures of myself every now and then however he thinks it's funny that all of my pictures are just me posing in nice clothes. So, next time i'm going to put all of the "serious face" pictures at the front and this one at the back to surprise him! Hah.

The dress i'm wearing is a size 16, I always size down 1 or 2 sizes for dresses that are stretchy and smocked. It does feel like i'm cheating on my size 18 dresses a little, though!
Since the dress is quite short I wore a pair of Faith 21 shorts underneath. I didn't take a picture because i'm sure y'all don't want to see the outline of my lady parts, but here is a picture from their website. They were only $6.80 and save my life! I know a lot of stores sell longer length shorts now but I always worry that the longer length kind will show when I sit down or walk. I just like my shorts to save me from the wind and those time's when you completely forget that you're wearing a short dress and bend over in public!

Pearls and lace...yes please!

I am loving A-Wear right now. I used to avoid their store because even though their clothes are beautiful, they only stock sizes 8-16 and are a little on the pricey side compared to Forever 21 and Primark. You do get what you pay for though, I bought my first pair of black leggings there six years ago and they are still in great shape.
Until recently the biggest size they stocked was a size 16 however they are now making certain items in size 18! While I do wish everything would be carried in that size, it's still a step forward.
I picked up this dress on sale. It was the last one in the store and just happened to be in my size. It had been marked down from €50 to €40 and I got an extra 10% off with a student card. Pretty good deal!

My pictures really don't show just how great the dress looks! I thought it would be a good idea to pull back the curtains and let some extra light in for my photographs..wrong!
I would have preferred to pair the dress with grey suede heels and a grey cropped blazer, but I don't own a grey blazer and my only pair of grey heels aren't wearable any more (drunken nights in a very wet city!)
I definitely need to invest in more "basic" pieces for my closet, especially more colored blazers and cardigans. I am lusting over a beautiful blazer on ASOS that is the perfect shade of nude but at £65 it's a little out of my budget right now!
I don't think the black looks completely awful but this dress probably won't make another appearance until I find a more suitable blazer/jacket!
