Dress: Topshop *** Belt: Dunnes *** Cardigan: Primark *** Shoes: Primark *** Ring: Miss Selfridge

The dress I wore today is one from my recent Topshop "haul" video. It makes me feel almost like a schoolgirl again (hence the title, I was a bit Nirvana-obsessed back in my school days!) Unfortunately the top part is quite see through so I had to wear a basic white tank top underneath. The lines underneath really bother me but its better than my boobs being on show! I really wanted to wear it with a red cardigan and sadly this is my only one. It's very old (at least five years, eek!) and the fit is very awkward. Now that color blocking and bright colors are "in", i'll have to keep a look out for a nice red cardigan!

I am still awaiting my appointment for the dermatologist. I know it has only been a couple of weeks since my doctor spoke to me about it but I am so impatient! I really want to get it all sorted out as soon as possible. I trimmed my hair yesterday but I just feel like its pointless because no matter how much I cut off the ends, it still looks unhealthy! I also lost quite a bit a couple of mornings ago after I got out of the shower, i'm hoping its just a side effect of the birth control i'm on (the box lists hair loss as a side effect, kind of defeats the purpose of why my doctor put me on it, huh!) and won't happen again.

So tomorrow is April 29 2011, quite a big day in history with this whole "Royal Wedding" shebang. I, like half of the world, am quite excited...but for a different reason. Tomorrow is the wedding, meaning the media will stop taunting us with ~royal wedding breaking news~ and ~what will Kate wear~,etc. soon enough. Finally! I honestly don't care about it. I might feel differently if I was from the UK...well, probably not if i'm honest! What is the point of a Queen/Royal Family in 2011 anyways?! I feel like a Debbie Downer but i'm really not their biggest fan, especially after learning that the (UK's) Queen has decided to visit Ireland and we will be paying a whopping €25 million for it. At a time when our economy is struggling and many families are living in poverty, that €25 million could be much better spent. Its not like she can't afford to pay her own way, i'm sure that kind of money is like pennies to her...

What are your thoughts on the Royal Wedding? Yay or nay?

Hope you all are enjoying your week so far!

PS. Massive thank-you's to everyone who bought things from my blog sale! I shipped all of the packages yesterday.

xoxo

You always have the nicest colours in your outfits, the cardigan looks perfect with the dress. I feel the same way about the wedding - i think i would have felt more excited about it if the media hadn't shuvved it down our necks at every chance!
I am a bit curious as to what Kate's dress will look like but that's about it!

  12. You look adorable! I'm a fan. Danish television is also broadcasting the wedding tomorrow. For 11 hours!!! It's mental. But I have to admit, I have to have a sneak peak at Kate's dress. So I probably will be watching the ceremony... I'm at home anyways.

  15. It seems my whole blog feed got together and decided to have an uber cute day!

Love this outfit and the braids give it such a nice touch!

I've been avoiding all the media talk about the royal wedding. Good Morning America has been dedicating so much attention to it that I have decided to stop watching until the wedding has passed. I AM looking forward to the photos that follow though! I'm sure Kate's dress will be gorgeous!

  22. lovely outfit!
I like Kate and Wills but I'm not a fan of the others. They invited former Prime Ministers from the Tory party but not the Labour party. We can't afford to host it and I think the Royal family should have had a cheap wedding and doanted money to cut the defecit!

  23. you really look a bit like a little school girl. And love that cardigan, so cute.

Nice title :) Nirvana will never be out of fashion.

I am glad the wedding will be over soon. Nothing normal showing on TV. Urg. I admit, I wanted to see the dress and the kiss. Apart from that, nay person here. All those other royal weddings with commoners, so nothing new. But she looked really pretty and I was really interested in all the fashion. That's it though. Hang in ther girl, will be over soon :)

  25. Nice outfit, I really love the mix of colours!

I ended up watching most of the wedding and got into it way more than I thought I would! x

  26. Yes! People here in America have been crazy for wedding information, even though it isn't relevant to our lives. There were NO news reports on any channels this morning (wedding aired 4AM EST) and no weather report!

On a brighter note: you look stunning! ;)

  28. I was really excited for the RW and I thoroughly enjoyed it, however it was all in a very fickle manner, I guess. I was happy to get caught up in the RW fever and celebrations, but when you think about the true value of a British monarchy in today's society and the scandals of the previous generations, it does seem to be quite unjust.

    This outfit is so sweet!xx

  29. Surely one of my all-time rock songs on the '90s. Yeah, that's rare for me- flashing back to a rock song. Long live Nirvana! This is a very cute schoolgirl-type look. Very charming innocence with this outfit.

As for the Royal Wedding, I'm not following this like crazy, but I'm proud for the couple.

  31. Love the shoes and the cardi! Actually I really enjoyed watching the Royal Wedding. Though I don't like it when the media gets into the personal stuff, like what bathing suits she will be wearing etc. I don't think it's anyone's business.

  32. I love this outfit, you look so cute! I'm on the lookout for some bright cardigans too, all mine seem to be black or dark blue!
I'm so sick of hearing about the royal wedding too. Fair enough they should get to have a lovely wedding and people can celebrate if they want, but I'm so tired of hearings news bulletins about it every half an hour!

  37. I love this dress! I tried it on in work but it was really short on me, couldnt be handling my ass being being on show whilst working! Seems to fit you perfectly though. Looks lovely.

Yeh, I had mixed feelings about the royal wedding. I totally understand the waste of money argument people are making, but I also think it was nice to see have something positive going on. Seeing how happy and cute they bought looked, and how much fun all the street parties looked I think it was good for the UK. its about time the media focused on something happy and positive.
But yeh...the Queen visiting Ireland annoys me a little bit. Im in no way a anti-royalist, or a republican or anything like that, in fact I think its great that she's visiting, in a way that it will show that we've all moved on from the past. But the cost really angers me. 25million, its a disgusting amount of money to spent when so many people here are in real serious financial trouble.
I suppose we just have to look at it in a positive light though and hope it will benefit Ireland in the long term.
