♥ Dress: Topshop *** Belt: Dunnes *** Booties: Topshop ♥
Spotted this beauty on a mannequin in Topshop and snapped up one in size 16 (UK) without trying it on. It looked perfect on the mannequin, I really should have remembered that she was a size 6 plastic doll with almost no cleavage! As you can see a lot of cleavage is shown because I have quite a large bust. I love everything else about the dress but i'm slightly worried I will look like a wannabe Katie Price if I go out to the club like this! I know i'm almost 21 and a grown up but I feel silly showing off so much cleavage. I thought afterwards maybe it is a beach coverup type dress but it was on the rail with party dresses so i'm sure I won't be the only girl wearing it this way if it is meant to be a beach dress! I don't have a black strapless top but I think I may use a safety pin (inside the dress) at the bottom so theres still a peek of cleavage but not quite as much! Feel free to offer suggestions. If anyone knows of any good strapless bras I would appreciate that too, the one i'm wearing is uncomfortable and squishes my ta-ta's into an awful shape almost at my neck, aha! I really need to start investing in better bras, I usually get mine from wonderbra but they're not worth the money in my opinion.
Decided that crying into my pillow will have nothing positive to offer me except more stress, i'm going to have myself a carefree night. Beginning to feel better and more positive about this already after I "officially" ended whatever it was we had today. Theres only one winner out of the three of us in this situation and its me because I deserve far better. As do all of you ladies, never give up your dignity for a man.
Happy Friday loves! Hope you all have a great night!
xoxo

OOTD: Dress dilemma

i love your hair!! & the color of your dress is such a cute color.
ReplyDeleteAlthough it looks pretty, even with the bra showingoff, and there's nothing wrong about it,as showing the bra lately seems to be fashion,if it was me and wanting to cover up i would use a top underneath, those thin ones,i don't know if i'm making myself quite clear. It looks lovely, dear and the color is great on you.
ReplyDeleteOk,silly me skipped over the no-top phrase. Then go for the safety pin, dear. Maybe it will work.
ReplyDeleteAs for bras,i like to try and find the right one, although lately my normal B cups seem to be a little too tight but i don't think my 'girls' are growing!
I do safety pin things like this too! A really cheap boob tube you can cut around from Primark to go under? or a more structured or strapless bra? Bravissimo and Figleaves online are really good for different bras for girls like us that can't help but show a bit!
ReplyDeleteaww its a shame the dress dosnt fit quite right cos its lovely! a safety pin should fix it thou! jealous of your boobs thou!
ReplyDeleteThe dress is awesome, and you look stuning! You can put a safety pin as you have said or just sew it a bit. Or you can put something liki this: http://img.blogdeblogs.com/doblemoda/uploads/2011/04/sujetador-bandeau.jpg

cute dress :)
ReplyDeleteOh dear, I know exactly what you mean about Topshop dresses. You know those lovely ones with the inbuilt corsety type bust cups? I bought one of those from Topshop in a sale and didn't have time to try it on, only to get it home and discover my boobs didn't fit into the cups! This does looks lovely though, I think if you just pin so there's no bra showing you'll be fine!
ReplyDeleteIf you can maybe go into somewhere like fabric land and get a piece of lace and sew it in? will look quite pretty. I always get my bras from La Senza or M & S cant go wrong with them

i actually love what you did with it. very quirky. maybe a bandeau bra? that could look really cool. loove those shoes too!

DAYMN!!! HUBBA HUBBAAAAA! Massive kudos to you for buying this dress! xo
ReplyDeleteyou can get really good thin strapless tops in H&M for about £3.99 - I've had mine for about two years and they're still in great condition! if not, I think one of those bandeau tops that are around at the moment would look really nice underneath :) (like this one http://www.asos.com/Asos/Asos-Boudoir-Mix-Match-Lace-Bandeau/Prod/pgeproduct.aspx?iid=1268499&utm_source=google_product_search&utm_medium=organic&utm_campaign=google_product_search&WT.tsrc=Google%20Product%20Search)

I see what you mean earlier about the cleavage - but you look haaawwwwttttt! Amazing colour on you.
ReplyDeleteI think it looks gorgeous as it is, it's a going out dress, a little skin showing up is to be expected. The safety pin would work nicely if you really want to cover up a bit.
ReplyDeleteThe dress is lovely and the colours looks ubelievably great on you. However, I know for myself that I wouldn´t feel comfortable showing so much cleavage. I was thinking a strapless top would help, just like a boobtube, as Rachel suggested already. It´d still show a bit but I suppose it´d give you more confidence about the outfit. Also, black one would look great considering the black belt and shoes (they´re lovely, btw).
ReplyDeleteAs for the bras - I got a strapless one the other day in Primark. I noticed they did have big ones as well so maybe have a look in there? I generally find Primark underwear and bras pretty awesome - I´m 34B, though, so there´s no all that much to support:)
Glad you´re feeling better and I very much like your attitude. You deserve much better x
I love it! Such a pretty colour, I'd personally feel self-conscious with people staring at my cleavage though lol defo try the safety pin and for future wear, maybe a bandeau? xx
ReplyDeleteOne or two stitches would keep it in place over your bust? it's a fab colour x
ReplyDeleteThat dress is to die forr!
ReplyDeletelove it :)

This color looks so lovely on your skin tone, and with your brown curls. Reminds me of mint chocolate chip ice cream. I wish I had your bust! I pretty much have nothing there.
ReplyDeleteM.
i really love that dress!
ReplyDeleteI love the colour, I'm not usually a fan of green but this is lovely :)
ReplyDeleteYou could wear one of these underneath -
http://www.newlook.com/shop/womens/tops/seamless-bandeau_215417901
if you wanted to cover up a bit?
x
wow what a gorgeous colour :) just safety pin it, i'm sure it will look fine then and make you more comfortable :) xx
ReplyDeleteI love the dress! The colour rocks! When it comes to the bra - I would try wearing a normal black bra and a bandeau over it - I mean sth like that:
ReplyDeletehttp://c1493832.cdn.cloudfiles.rackspacecloud.com/94724_1271697565_486x486.jpg
so the bra is covered :D
And about crying in the pillow - come on pillows need some break too ;) men are never worth crying for! YOUR life is all about YOU! I'm sending loads of love from Poland - you are awesome!
I do love that dress!!
ReplyDeleteMaybe a tank top under it? or safety pin it?
Hope you feel better. Always thinking of you.
ReplyDeleteThis outfit here is pretty hot... and also quite daring. That dress with those booties is a hot combination. Hope all is well with you. Greetings from the United States!

Bandeau top from american apparel? They come in loads of colours, I wear them under loads of things that are a bit too 'booby'! x
ReplyDeleteI dunno, it looks a little tacky, sorry. I'd just make the keyhole a little smaller with a few stitches of thread or as mentioned before, a safety pin should do it :D you could also wear a under it?
ReplyDeletethe color suits you so well, you'll look gorgeous no matter what :)
xo
que sexy!!
ReplyDeletewww.looklabmx.com
Girl you look SMOKIN!!!! I love this look!
ReplyDeletelovely look! a crop top bra would work great but i dont think it looks bad like that but I would feel slightly exposed xx
ReplyDeleteThat dress is such a nice colour! If you don't want your bra showing maybe you could get a black lace vest to wear under it? I do that quite often with crop tops etc! xx
ReplyDeleteShame it's not just a bit bigger cos I think it wouldn't gape as much then. I personally wouldn't go out with that much bra/cleavage showing but people do and it does look lovely on you - espesh the colour. I like an idea someone else has mentioned, perhaps sewing some lace underneath it? x
ReplyDeletelol dear
ReplyDeleteu look hot ! Got it Flaunt it ! :) but yeah sometimes when i felt awkward i 'd use a pin inside too
and i hope u are feeling better too , the last line was really well said. ''never give up your dignity for a man.'' of course you are the winner , stay strong , i am sure u will walk away with head up high.
I don't know the whole picture of the situation , so i have no rights to comment too much on it . But what i would love to say to u is , you are gorgeous , love ur confidence and you rocks ! hell yea u deserves better ! ♥
It's a gorgeous dress, a little bit scandalous, but still pretty! You could pin it a little if you want or maybe wear a tube top underneath. :)
ReplyDeletePrincipessa Gabriella
nice outfit
ReplyDeletewaaa i move your dress !!!
Well I love the colour of the dress, and the general shape. But I think the cleavage is too much, just because it shoes the bottom of your bra. I say safety pin (or just tack it with a needle and thread) up to your bra so you just get a smaller but classier (in my opinion) cleavage).
ReplyDeleteI get the same thing with dresses that look all sweet and girly then I try them on and the material is stretched over my boobs, loose everywhere else and despite it look totaly innocent on other girls, I end up looking wayyyyy too booby.
Personally I get all my bras from Bravissimo, they do pretty good strapless bras, though I never feel as supported as I do in a strappy bra but I presume all people feel the same way?
xxxx
I think the dress looks really pretty and sweet and on you:)

Absolutely love that dress! The colour is so pretty. I think that putting a pin in the inside of the dress is such a good idea! :D x x
ReplyDeleteI think you can pull it off, showing off a bit of cleavage is okay, especially if you are going out to a club. From what I've seen, you are wearing LOTS of clothes compaired to some girls! Those shoes are AMAZING!
ReplyDeleteI don't think this is NSFW. You look really beautiful! Have you tried Victoria's Secret strapless bras? I wear the strapless ones from the PINK collection that fit me so much better than the racier bras. Maybe invest in one of those!
ReplyDeleteGlad you are giving yourself a carefree night. You deserve it! And definitely agree with not giving up dignity for a man.
I hope you enjoyed a long night of pampering and treasuring yourself. :]
the dress with the showing bra is lovely <3 I adore your style, darling !

I adore the colour of the dress but I'd probably be a bit wary of wearing it out as well, it is quite revealing, but I think your idea of using a safety pin will make it look great! I love your shoes as well!
ReplyDeleteI just discovered your blog and i'm in love with it. You're so pretty and inspiring !
ReplyDeleteIt's a real pleasure to read from you. So do not stop your lovely blog (:
xxx, M.
Its a lovely dress, I think you just have to own it when you are wearing it or get a vintage gold brooch to pin it. xx PS they have some lovely bras at Debenhams, I got a nice one in hot pink and nude. xx
ReplyDeleteI like the mint green colour, but the style of the dress is just not to my taste :/ I've prefered other things that you've worn. You've looked really sweet!
ReplyDeleteNatalie x
You are so beautyful and so sexy waouh
ReplyDeletethe dress is amazing!!! You look great! My favorite 100% feminine style!
ReplyDeletea girl (about a size 6) wore this to my uni summer ball last week, honestly i thought she was too small for it, i think it does look nice on you, however theres a bit too much on show. the safety pin idea sounds brills! :)
ReplyDeleteas for the boy: been there, done that, got the t-shirts. Keep your head up, smile and have a few drinks! Hope youre feeling better tomorrow. xoxo
I think you look bloomin gorgeous dear! If you've got it flaunt it as my mum used to say, howver if you don't feel comfortable, I think a safety pin at the bottom would work fine (I use them all the time) xxx
ReplyDeleteahh that dress is amazing! I think just pinning it would work fine to be honest. Personally I'd pin it just at the bottom of where the cups come together, so as not to risk flashing too much flesh below that amazing cleavage of yours! No idea if my description made any sense though haha xx
ReplyDeleteIt *is* a bit too much cleavage, perhaps, but I just have to say that I still love the dress on you and the color is fab!
ReplyDeleteThe dress is FAB, you should get a long line bra if you feel a little exposed, or a bodysuit/leotard! The color is amazing! You look adorable!
ReplyDeleteHoney you look great, this is sooo your colour. If the revealingness still bothers you the try a brooch or diamante bra then it will just be like "yeah I've got a nice bra and wanna show it off"...no harm in being a bit sexy every now and again and you have the goods so flaunt 'em!
ReplyDeleteKisses
Amy
That green is an awesome colour on you! You could definitely wear the dress just like this, but I understand why you'd want to cover up just a bit more. The guy's a prick, he clearly does not deserve you. And he will surely regret his decision. These sexy pics will most definitely see to that! You go girl. x

This is lovely, and really suits your figure! Have you tried putting a black strappy top underneath? Or a plain black boob tube top underneath? I reckon that would sort it out in no time!
ReplyDeleteI love the colour, and i don't think there is anything wrong with it. But if u don't feel comfortable in it, i really like the lace idea, sew some under the keyhole in black and the same bra underneath, i think that would look fab.
ReplyDeletePretty dress!
ReplyDeleteI would definitely go with a top underneath. The dress is sooo pretty, but I think it would look still quite open with a pin. But maybe that's just me.
ReplyDeleteSorry for the guy situation. Know what you mean. Hold your head up high! you deserve to be treated like a queen and no less.
I would go with either a bandeau underneath or just pin it so there's less boobage (: The colour looks gorgeous on you. I'm glad you're rising above this idiotic man. He really doesn't deserve a lady like you at all and he especially doesn't deserve someone like you waiting for him :D
ReplyDeleteI love the colour of this dress, it looks great on you
ReplyDeleteI think a safety pin or black strapless should be able to fix it so you feel less conscious about it, but honestly it looks great!
love the dress! you look HOT in it!
ReplyDeleteand you're so inspiring!
this blog makes me smile :)
thank you

The dress is gorgeous. Try wearing a bando bra like this -

They sell them everywhere for super cheap.

I love the dress! What a gorgeous color!
ReplyDeleteHey, just found your blog so sorry if the comment is a little late haha. There's a doubled sided taped you can buy (boob tape or fashion tape) That might come in handy as you could tape the front bits of the dress so you wouldn't be able to see as much clevage.
ReplyDeleteThe dress is gorgeous by the way! Hope this helps
i want this dress! (did they have it in other colors, i already have a chiffon-y piece in the green color family...) its probably waaaay to late now, and I don't live in the UK.
