Whats in my bag: makeup edition

I did a "skincare edition" of this not too long ago and since then I have got a few comments asking what makeup I use, a few people even asked for a makeup tutorial. I'll be honest and say that I absolutely love makeup but mostly when it comes to applying it on other people! I generally wear my makeup exactly the same every day, even though I have a huge makeup collection. I was going to photograph all of the makeup I own but I really only use about 5% of it so I didn't see the point! I store all of my makeup in this leopard print case from Primark, I bought it 3 or 4 years ago for about five euros so its one of my favorite purchases.

Mac blush in Blushbaby and Springsheen. I usually use one "swoop" (I can't think of a better term!) of Blushbaby and two of Springsheen. If i'm going out to a club i'll use three or four of Blushbaby but for everyday I try to keep it subtle.


NARS loose powder in Eden and MAC compact powder in medium. The NARS powder is definitely my favorite, its a little pricey for a powder, something I hate to spend a lot of money on, but it sets my foundation perfectly. The MAC powder is useful for my handbag (no spillage!) but I will probably get a pressed NARS powder when its gone. The NARS powder is a shade or two lighter than my foundation but I prefer the look it gives when it sets.




MAC skinfinish in Shimpagne and Rimmel face and body bronzer in Sun Kiss. I have a lot of these MSF's but this one is definitely my favorite/most used. I don't use it every day, mostly when i'm going out. I love the shimmer it adds to my skin. The Rimmel bronzer is a recent purchase, I used it quite a bit on my holiday but haven't since! I'm not too interested in using bronzer on my body and when I need bronzer on my face I go with Laguna by NARS (very rarely!)


Urban Decay primer potion and MAC eyeshadows, I think the palette is called "ruby eyes". I swear by the primer potion, my eyelids get quite oily by the end of the day which usually means eyeshadow fades however it lasts all day with this primer (not to mention it makes the color so much more intense!) I did a prom makeup recently and used this, the girl said her makeup still looked perfect the next day! As you can see from the eyeshadow palette, I mostly use one color! That is "satin taupe", its the prettiest brown eyeshadow I have ever used. I also use Carbon (black) in the crease of my eye and blend it into the satin taupe eyeshadow.


MAC fluidline eyeliner in Blacktrack and Dior Diorshow mascara. I don't really need to elaborate on these because they are two of the most talked about beauty products! If you don't own them - believe the hype! Especially fluidline, its the only eyeliner that lasts me 12+ hours without needing to be reapplied.


Nivea sun protector lipbalm, Dior lipbalm, Soap And Glory lipgloss, NARS lipgloss in Turkish Delight. I always use a lipbalm every morning and usually top it up throughout the day. Even though I drink well over 8 glasses of water a day, my lips can feel quite dry so this helps. The NARS lipgloss is my favorite but its on the expensive side for a lipgloss, so I have been using up the S&G gloss lately. Its a lot more sticky than the NARS gloss which I hate so once its gone i'll probably stick with NARS but invest in a couple more shades!


MAC brushes I use most often, one (the slimmest one) is a fake brush I bought online. It was the first "MAC" thing I bought years ago but its surprisingly good for a fake! I use it to apply my eyeliner. Now I stick to buying makeup instore as its simply too risky to buy online in my opinion. Far too many fakes floating around!



Johnsons makeup removal wipes for dry skin and Chanel moisturizer. The moisturizer is absolutely incredible but its so expensive that I can't justify using it every single day. I am lucky and don't have problems with my skin most of the time so I use this maybe once every fortnight and then any time my skin feels extra dry (when I have been sick or during the winter) Its a gel rather than a cream and a little bit goes a long way!

I forgot to take a closeup photograph of my foundation but if anyone is interested its MAC studio fix fluid. I usually wear NC40 or NW30 mixed with a little bit of NC/NW15 depending on how dark my fake tan looks.
